Probably 6 or 8 years ago I bought two cans of Reenactor Powder. Thought was to use in my Cowboy Action 12 gauge Shells. Well I have yet to do this.

I want to work up a 100 yard target load. I was thinking Colonial era powder would be about the same quality.

I have a 50 caliber flintlock. It’s 50 caliber mate pistol is a tack driver. I’m thinking 75 grains of Reenactor powder would be a good starting point. 2f black powder in de flash pan. (Been working well.) Using .490 balls and some paper thin pre-lubed patches from Track of the Wooluf.

What say you? I have some Pyrodex and 2F Holy Black Powder if I’m way off base here. Affordable powder being the issue.

Thanks,

Welcome to the madness!

Personally your wrists and shoulder would probably like starting in the 40-50gr area and work up in 5gr increments hunting the accuracy

Paper dont take a lot of killin...
