Just purchased from a buddy, he thought it was a mountaineer but unfortunately not. Still an amazing muzzleloader. Anyone have success with Lehigh conversion breech plug or tried it?

The Lehigh conversion should work very. I have had a couple of MHC's and switched them to the DISC Leigh conversion.

I would prefer a MH over a Mountaineer if for no other reason than nostalgia. I always wanted one, but could not afford them when they first hit the market.

What’s the difference between a MH and a MHC?

I have two .50 cal MH’s. How did Knight differentiate between the MH and the MHC? I’d guess the barrel would say?

It's in like new condition, I told him what it was probably worth and I couldn't afford it so that was the offer he made me

Yes the marking on the barrel indicates MHC. If you look closely just to the left of the serial number.

Master Hunter barrels were hand selected by the smiths

They look like a work of art. I like functional weapons that are beautiful at the same time

Looks like both of mine are MHs. Both shoot well with 100(v) BH209, Federal 209A and Barnes 295 TMZ. I have a LeHigh breech plug in one and a Bestill one piece breech plug in the other. Hope your MHC shoots well for you.
