Measuring scope height?

Hi all - Several of the ballistics calculators that I have been playing with ask for sight height as a variable. How do I measure this? From top of barrel to X? Something else?

That is helpful, in some way. But that article presumes that you are doing this measurement before mounting the scope and it can help you choose the appropriate rings. I am talking about measuring the sight height on an already mounted scope. Thanks!

AND...now that I have done this and inputted it into the ballistics calculator, I see that for heights between one inch and two and distances of 100 yards, this does not make a meaningful difference for hunting. IE, a drop of 3.08 inches at 1.8 inches scope height vs 3.4 at 1 inch scope height...I wish that 3/10 of an inch mattered to my shooting but... So, in summary, nothing to see here!
