Greetings & Merry Christmas to everyone.

Totally new today Christmas member this is my #1 post.
I'm a avid hunting and shooter for almost 60 years, retired from a major manufacturing company six years ago as a Quality specialist. I hunt mainly in northern Illinois coyote & deer but have just gone last year elk hunting in NM, no luck. I also target shoot as far and often as I can.
The reason I wanted to join Modern muzzle loader.com was to learn and be able to share information about the sport.
I just bought after many years of procrastinating a new CVA Accura V2 Nitride (in and out) with the 27" Bergara barrel, and 3X10 Konuspro 275 scope. I added the Buckhorn 209 breach plug to the package and four different slug/sabot combinations to try. My intention is to work up a good deer load capable of 250 yard accuracy if needed. I believe I have a lot to read up on tonight!
Thank you all for reading my into and a Merry Christmas.

Welcome to the group. Feel free to join in.

Welcome. I do a fair amount of IL deer hunting, coyotes when able too. I prefer my M-L over using my shotgun slug gun. A bit more to fiddle with and clean but it can really stack the deer up.

When I go down later to help the lease holder take some stands down I may opt for coyote hunting over matching up with any late anterless seasons. If that ends up being the case, I will take a 243, a FoxPro and some mouth calls. There always seem to be a lot of coyotes at our hunting spot, North of Peoria.
