I had to order two to try. I have a break and not having to worry about getting out my funnel and using it to reload is a benefit. Not too worried about water or moisture as I am in southern AZ and out side of monsoon season it is typically not an issue.

I tried a quick load with a tube last year and failed miserably. Powder everywhere but down the muzzle. When I was younger it was no problem. I have eyed the Knight speed loaders, tapered to fit in muzzle . Have any of you guys tried the Knight?

just got home , got the elks turned upside down , i'll dry them with a towel and look for signs of moisture inside after i eat .

well ....... :(
18 out of 20 has some moisture/fog spots and 2 of them had a drop or water that got through the forst ring but not the second ring . keep in mind these were completely submerged for 9 hours under a chunk of paver stone . i think in any real world scenario they will be fine and i have no concerns about using them myself . there is a strip of foam in the top that keeps them from rattling if you shake the case with them in it .

this first pic is just to show the foam , the tubes hadn't been wiped dry on the outside yet .
the following 2 pics the 4 worst of the bunch , the other 14 had less moisture .

When I test tubes for moisture, I put weight in the bottom, then fill it up with common household flour. I leave them submerged for a minimum of 12hrs.

I just received one of the Cedar Mountain Quick Loaders.

Here are my initial thoughts on this speed loader. It appears very well made with tight tolerances and quality materials. I’m a fan of the color which will make it harder to loose. The powder tubes fit very tightly into the loader and there is a small silicon-type sealing pad on the loader that appears to seal the powder tube quite well. Total length is about 4.5 inches. The funnel barrel is 3” long with an OD of .377” and an ID of .254”. The bullet compartment has a small removable piece of foam in the bottom that cushions the bullet and “pops” the bullet (in this case a 300 gr TC in a MMP sabot) up for easy access when the cap is opened. The foam can be modified or removed to suit the bullet being used. The cap is tight and well-fitting soft rubber with a keeper loop. The hinge/pivot screw appears to be aluminum. It fits well and is easy to remove.

To minimally test water resistance, I submerged the unit under about 3” of water for 1 hour. No signs of water penetrating the powder tube or bullet chamber were noted.

I then placed it in the freezer at -8 degrees for an hour and then tested it for function or brittleness. Worked fine. The only thing I noticed is that the rubber cap for the bullet compartment was slightly looser.

The obvious wear point is the silicon pad that seals the powder chamber. There is some noticeable wear on it after having opened and closed it about 50 times. Time will tell if that wears to the point that the powder chamber is no longer waterproof.

I think the price is reasonable for what you’re getting. I paid $26.49 delivered for the loader and three tubes.

I’m really not sure why they are advertising these for Blackhorn 209 - they will work with any powder. The tube will comfortably hold more than 120 gr by volume. The powder flowed out quickly - I timed it at approximately 1.3 seconds. Pic below is 120 gr of 2F 777.

For me the advantages of this loader are no-spill and that I can load powder and bullet without looking, which should allow me to keep eyes on the animal. I’ll be field testing in the next few days.
