So took my new to me T/C Hawken out.
Load was:
.490 RB, 60gr. 777FFF, CCI Mag. cap
.018 Pillow ticking, olive oil.
Also used .020 Drill material.
At 25yds the shots were bout 1" apart, thats ok, so I move to 50yds.
Things opened up bad, say two almost touching and a couple 4" away.
Patches are not burnt or torn, they are good enough to reuse, if need be.
Things did tighten up to about 2" with a .495 ball, but it is hard loading.
I am thinking I need to revisit my old load data from my first T/C Hawken which always shot under 1.5"
I am thinking since the grooves are shallow on the T/C, maybe a .495 ball with a .015 patch

that 015 patch should do the trick. Did you try cleaning between shots?

Yes, tried swabbing.
Will look for some Ticking in .015
Will up powder charge to 70 and 80 gr.
