Took Bumblebee out today. Beautiful day, 80° low humidity, but breezy.
She shot rather poorly. Guess she prefers damp, gloomy days.
Got frustrated, so home I go for my Renegade .50 flinter and, gasp, sabot loads!
First was my usual 250 gr 45 XTP in a Crush Rib and 70 of 3f Swiss. This rifle NEEDS crush ribs btw.
First 3 at 50 were 13/16ths!
Next 3 were 1 & 5/16ths! I blew the last shot.
Next 3 were 13/16ths!
Oh dear...
Switched th the 230 grain .45 XTPs with no other changes. Only had 3 rounds, but they went into an inch on the button.
Clearly, this Renegade is trying to earn a spot in the cabinet!
This is the rifle with the wonky frizzen fit. The one I almost sold...
Point of impact for the 2 loads is virtually identical. A very nice bonus I must say!
So. 4 groups. 3 of them an inch or less. After all this time I can shoot this flintlock as well, with the same loads, as my percussion Hawken.
I guess the standard has been set...
