Anyone know of a gunsmith that can/will weld a trigger block on a new barrel for a TC Omega.

Find a local weld shop , simple tig weld

Just curious why the "no" answer. Would it hurt the barrel integrity?

weld shop take ten minutes. could probably even be mig welded if guys good enough.

his reply was that the jig that he uses to weld the trigger block is set up to his proprietary barrel contour and could not be used for another barrel.

Later action lugs were screwed on. Modify the contour on the screw on lugs, match the milled slot, drill, tap, and screw them on. On a new barrel there would be nothing to index. I have a bag full of lugs if someone wants to give it a try. Or you can buy a replacement barrel.

I am about to do some of these from scratch. If you are looking for a new barrel and new block contact me. I likely wouldn't consider repairing exsiting ones.

I've had 40 or 50 Omegas. The early ones had the welded lugs and I've never seen one that was cracked or broken. I have had some loose lugs on the screw in type.

i have a barrel that is a green mountain 45 cal. It was a cut off when knight went out of business. I have a lathe and the required skill to cut the breech threads for the plug.

i purchased the rifle and found that the previous owner didn't take care of it(bad pitting). it will still shoot sabots but I am not happy with the bore. the welds are not broken. I just want a clean smooth bore.

I am yes. Some with Mcgowen and some with Brux. I am also making the blocks and welding them on etc.
