I know the live ones are nasty lil buggers, but they slay the fish - Lg Mouth, Smallmouth, & stripers. They are much easier to deal with & " should " kill-em. I like 6" shallow diving broken back lures & Rattle Trap for them too on light spinning tackle.

I call them water worms and you're right about the bite. One of those suckers gets a grip on you and expect it to bleed. Great for stream trout in the early part of the season.

Looks like they would be a great specimen for some shad paste fish lure? Crappie and bass love it..
