Received V2 Pistol today

Been wanting to get my hands on one of these for over a year now and just last week, finally took the plunge and ordered one Muzzle-Loaders.com. Overall, very happy with it but still have not thrown any lead down range yet.

My two gripes about it at this point is that the pistol grip and forestock diamond pattern is very uncomfortable/sharp, pretty much guarantee that once I start firing it, it will be very pronounced. Second, pistol grip and forestock have a lot of proud/sharp edges, going to need to take a file to it to clean it up a bit. Without doing so, I imagine my hand(s) looking like I laid concertina wire without leather gloves.

My Optima V2 rifle arrives tomorrow, hoping that it's a bit better out of the box.

Any advice/suggestions are welcome.

May have found a solution, killing a few birds with one shot.

I saw this guys previous write up from 2021 but was hesitant, then I came across his latest write up, link below. Anyone have this latest iteration? Did you go with the buffer tube or picatinny?

I have buffer tube versions for both of my pistols. One older version and one of the newer version. I like the older one because they used to offer finger notches which, to me, make it a little more comfortable. I put Hogue universal rubber grip covers on both tho.
