I hike when I hunt. Until I have a gun bearer, I won't be using a heavy trigger stick. In our rocky soil, it isn't useful as a walking stick because it is too noisy. I used a bipod for years, but it wasn't very good for steep up and down shooting, where I hunt. Folding aluminum sticks fit in a sheath on my belt, weight almost nothing, and increase shooting ability dramatically. Much more adaptable to steep canyons. I sit so I can rest the stock butt on my knee. It is almost as good as the bench.
