Well my Isaac Haines parts set has been sitting around for quite awhile so I decided to get back at it. This one will have steel furniture with patch box. It's a .54 cal. with a Chambers deluxe Siler lock, 38" swamped rifled barrel by Rice. Should be a great light weight hunting rifle. I won't be doing any relieve carving until I get a class under my belt (don't want to ruin my build completely). This will be my third rifle and I still don't know what the heck I'm doing. I have a very high respect for master gun builders because I find building rifles a very challenging task. Even though it's a kit it takes a lot of chisel work and patience to get a good wood to metal fit. I'll post progress from time to time.
