Got this one in today, its an older book by Sam Fadala. Covers EVERYTHING on sidelock muzzleloading. Bullets, balls, sights, lubes, just everything from to back.

I have not read it yet but am about to sit down and start. Lots of picture is what I love about a good book.

I've had that for years. It's good reading but some things he champions are potentially risky. He likes to load 4F in a Ruger Old Army for example. The gun can handle it .. usually.

Interesting find while reading tonight. Bolster VS drum. They could NOT get the barrel with the drum to explode until they went to 200 grains smokeless powder LOL. With 400 grains 3f and 3 maxi balls, it still would not blow.
