Thompson/Center QLA - Why Is This An Issue?

A few years back, I acquired a White Lightning that some fool had a QLA cut into it for saboted bullet use. (don't ask me why  ) It wouldn't shoot conicals for squat! I had the QLA removed and re-crowned. Wallah! It once again shot how a White SHOULD shoot! I've also had 2 T/C Omegas with the QLA. Neither one would shoot conicals accurately.

I've said this before over the years, but the TC QLA is the main reason I sold all my TC rifles when I found the Whites would shoot conicals like a centerfire rifle shoots. The only TC rifle I kept was my Renegade which I bought in 1993 which doesn't have a QLA, an for sentimental reasons. (It killed my first muzzleloader deer). I have owned a Encore/Firehawk/System1/Cherokee...never should have sold the Cherokee and sent the Firehawk off to have the QLA installed (took the bait too) and it never shot conicals good again.

Jus alittle history lesson learned by myself... :)
