Geez i had to re-clean both of my .45's this morning early. I failed to do a great job n i found light showing of rust on my Frizzen backside. My Hawken's bore had surface rust inside the bore. I found crud in the lands of of bore from the T7 . I was not a happy camper over it. So while i will use my shot to shot cleaning mix while shooting sessions. When i get back inside its going to be Dawn n water cleaning.

Took my muzzleloaders out of the cabinet, swabbed both barrels and actions thenran a barrel mop with light oil through them.Have an out door gun show comng up 15 miles from me.Going to try and find some powder to shoot my new t/c sml Omega barel.Hope to find some n110 or something that shoots good in the barrel.

This morning I swapped the stainless bushing to carbide bushing in Marks plug, also made a flash hole tool. 243 brass with the drill bit epoxied in. Puts it perfectly to twist easy. Packed the case to the top of shoulder with cleaning patches kneaded the epoxy together packed it in and set drill bit. Works great..

That's just niftier than heck Mike. Now I have to look for a 223 case at the range. I like this idea.

It rained to day so I had some time in my shop. I shortened the barrel on my H&R stub job in .458 from 22 1/2 to 18 inches. It came in at 32" oa. Very handy in a treestand.

As in .458 Winchester? That would have to bark.

My pre-64 Mosel 70 in ,458 weighs in about 13 pounds scoped. Recoil is significant. That little popper would really nail a guy if it was the mag.

Was at the lease today cleaning' up sticks and such, weedeatin' and thinkin' about how much hate having to go to the WMA shooting range to get range time, so....

I made this little shootin' range next to the cabin, across the creek, dog-leg right past the shithouse and an hour of my time on a weed eater and chain saw and I got a place to shoot I have to share with no one!

Well at least you’re working, I’ve been off since January and now the writers strike is messing us up. I’m good with it though got plenty of side work. On that note I’m gathering muzzy supplies to hit camp all next week. Gonna be great times..

Sent some Hornady 250 grain .45 caliber XTPs down range from my T/C Hawken. Groups at 100 yards, 3 shots, ranged from 15/16ths to 1 & 11/16ths. Sabots were Harvester crush ribs, 70grains of 3f Swiss was the charge and sights were the issue bead and a T/C aperture rear.
This is my factory laminate stocked Hawken.
For our October antlerless and muzzleloader bear season, she gets the nod.

I put a new scope & DNZ mount on my Accura V2 this morning. I just got them yesterday.
The scope brings some high end features to a very modest priced scope. It did add some weight to the gun, but not an excessive amount. I love the amount of FOV it has & the IR reticle as well as the zero stop/locking turrets.
Athlon killed it on this scope.
