The info here and on the web seems sparse, so, for anyone thinking about doing this…

I decided to replace the regular “stayset” elevation knobs on a couple of my Lyman 57SME peep sights with target knobs. I found a couple of the target knobs (product # 541600) online for $12.30 each at Numrich.

Swapping the knobs out was very easy. It just entails removing the small c-clip on the underside and switching the knobs.

So now I’ve got a couple of “57SMET” sights for my Whites.

I put those on my first one. I ended up taking it off and using the button instead.

Yeah, I may do the same after trying it. I don’t intend to dial in the field but the knobs will make adjusting the sights a little quicker at the range.

I prefer to adjust for the shot.

Are you able to do that with the non-target knob (without a coin or something)?

If you push this button the elevator will release and you can slide it up and down or take it off.
