Gun Control

Sure sounds like your government is going the Canadian way with fire arms. I believe your 2nd ammendment is the right to bear arms. No where does it state what type of firearm. The government will be able to tell you what guns you are allowed to own and carry and which will be made illegal. They will be able to make you get a special license to own or acquire a gun and register it so the government will know who owns what. They will make it illegal for a sporting goods store to sell ammo to anyone without a license. They will make every law abiding citizen who wants to own a gun jump through the hoops. The criminals will still have guns. The lunatics will still have knives. But you will be blamed and scorned for owning a gun. Yeah, I know. You are saying what a bunch of crap, it will never happen in the U.S. we will not let it happen. Funny, I remember saying the same thing here in Canada.

I'm not so sure that the technology exists to successfully encode bullets and have the code survive after firing and impact with whatever. I think it sounds good on paper for the anti's but in reality it will be much more difficult to achieve. Maybe we should have the guys(and gal) at Mythbusters check this one out.

I looked up this bill online and it is a very slippery slope. I wrote my senator last night telling him how I felt about it and asked what his thoughts were on this specific bill and his thoughts on gun control laws if he had sponsored a bill.

I encourage everyone to write or call their legislaters!

I wonder if your politicians are smart enough to look at the Canadian legislation and see that it is a fail piece of legislation and cost 10X their initial estimate. It doesn't even come close to meeting their expectations.
As previously mentioned we have licencing. You have to pass a firearms course and then get a licence where your record, background and mental stability are taken into account. You can't even buy bullet without that licence. Maybe that's not such a bad thing but registering all long guns is a mistake and a costly one too. Original estimates was that it would cost $100 odd million. It's now approaching $2billion and keeps growing.

I suppose there is a state somewhere stupid enough to pass these bills but by and large it ain't gonna happen. Support your NRA , SCI ect. Contact your legislature , don't let it happen . If it does pass somewhere just remember " From These Cold Dead Hands ". They take your guns and ammo yer done, stick a fork inya. You have become a "subject "rather than a free man.

I voted for Obama- right now, the way our country is, our second amendment rights are very low in the totum poll. That is why a lot of voters looked over his firearm views. At this time a lot of Americans are worried about losing their homes- not their shotguns.

It will be interesting to see how a ban or restriction comes to a head.

I am really hoping the state of the economy would for-stall any gun action. The first 100 days - the president gets the most done so again I was hoping all of this would disappear for those 100 days...

But surely as we stand or sit Obama will support gun legislation and Pelosi will drive it.

Somehow, the American public, the ones that really do not make waves, really need to figure out riding in the back is not the way to go. We really need a voice.

The Statistics say there are now 1,000,000 active violent criminal gang members besides all the other criminals in the USA, Still gonna not resist when they pass legislation to take your guns??The bushmaster stock is worth it!! Put the piece in it and buy ammo. I'm done with the rant! Well maby not. Just read an article in the little home town newspaper about how wells fargo has canceled thier junket to vegas after recieving bailout money and some one blew the whistle on em. Targets of oppurtunity abound! Wonder if someone would bail out my 401 k ??
