Latka says.....When you go from shooting 12 to 15 lb a year to zero well let's just say it's been a difficult 6 months for me,, there will be smoke in the air!!
Reread some of the previous posts! Nothing about Barbi and toilet paper applies (Here) ,just folks in the right place at the right time because they are smart enough to know if they shoot they had better buy while they can cause those that don"t have expensive fence posts . I shoot enough different powders and different primer systems that I should be set for a while , (But I"m not) and will keep on buying till I am (no shame here) just willin to pay/work/drive more than you/EdSorry bit those who buy everything out on the shelf remind me of the trailer park barbie I saw coming out of a Walmart just beaming. This was a little over a year ago. Her cart was umb full of toilet paper and she couldn't have been more proud of herself.
Guess we will disagree ,at least my response makes sense while your reply is more (never mind)/EdSame thing, different product.
I normally just read and not post here; I'm still pretty new to muzzleloading so don't have much, if any, wisdom to share so I just read and absorb. But this post compelled me to log in just to click the thumbs up button. When people post a value judgement about another member here without personally having communicated over the phone, or in person, with that member I find it both odd, and disturbing.
To call someone like MtMonkey a hoarder, when I know that the 4 pounds of BH209 that he just purchased, has little likelihood of still being around 2 months from now, is both insulting, and uncalled for.
I have been talking with him on the phone for over 2 years now. He shoots his muzzleloaders at least 3 times a week, 52 weeks a year. He hunts, 12 months a year (lots of feral hogs where he lives).
So, for those of you who are so quick to judge.....
Take a long hard look at yourself, and ask whatever higher power that you believe in....
"Am I so perfect that I can stand in front of this mirror judging others, without myself being judged in return?"
If we all keep clearing the shelves of it, maybe Hodgdon will increase production? Do i hoard powder? No but... If i see it at a good/fair price I'll probably buy up 2+ bottles. Do i have enough to last a year or two? Yes but I'm still going to buy it when i find it. I think technically i am a powder hoarder. My apologies to the guys that came after me, looking for bh209 only to find it's gone and I don't have any ill will toward the guy before me doing the same, and leaving me empty handed.
Great post. Well said TomTHIS ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Captialism is all supply and demand. You think Walmart doesn't see that 5 bottles hit the shelf and quickly left? You think they don't know what store, & shelf those bottles were on and for how long? They don't know what credit card number purchased them... and if that card ever did a return, you don't think they know what name and address they went home to?
They know, and they'll use it to determine when to buy more and what store to send it to.... and they will push their suppliers to get it to them when they want it.
That's called capitalism folks. Quit sitting on your couch trying to decide who its good for, or what part of it is good or bad... its just capitalism (which is overall good for the people, when it isn't manipulated by Communist Elitist Technocrats).
