since you replied .......
the rebate doesn't apply , but what are your thoughts on the fullfield iv 3-12x56 ?

soooo ...... what would you (or anyone that cares to) recommend for the most budget friendly (for cheap bass turds) for preferably 3-15 but could live with 3-12 with a not too busy BDC type reticle and generous eye relief with decent low light performance that's not made in china . not uber low light ..... just decent given the budget friendly part . side focus/parallax would be nice and illumination but not a must have . i'd like less low end that the 4.5 -18 bushy AR i have now .
the burris veracity 3-15x50 seems to have everything i want ! except for the $600+ price :( ....
BTW must have a great proven warranty !

thanks , jeff

You can get a Vortex DiamondBack HP in 4-16x42 for $200 and occasionally you can get the 3-12x42 for a bit less. Really nice scope for lower end and same glass as the Vipers. Great eye relief too. Their BDC is pretty basic. Both models are side focus too.

Best price i can find on the 3-12 atm. I have this scope and im completely satisfied with it. Sportsmans has it also for a couple bucks more.

Burris FFII and E1 are still made in the Philippines and people love them for the price. Natchez often has sales on the Veracity but we are still talking about $450.

If you dont mind a adjustable objective i know where to get a very nice made in Japan 5-15x40 1" tube Tac Ops for $315. This is a pretty good scope made by Light Optical Works in Japan. Its the forerunner to the Elite Tactical line.

is this a better scope for the money ?
Only if you prefer to use your warranty. Strike Eagle are Chinese made. Might as well get a Sightron STAC 4-20x50 duplex if you want a scope that large. Its about $300 also but built to handle abuse much better.

Where is the diamondback hp made ?
Is the hp better than their DB Tactical?

DB Tactical FFP are made in China. All the rest of the Diamondbacks are made in the Philippines. The HP line has the XR/XD glass just like the Vipers.

Just ordered the DB HP 4-16 you linked to above and some butches bore clean .

Thanks , jeff

Several guys on the ML boards have used the DB HPs and i dont think ive seen anyone complain for what they cost. Glass is fine and the eye box is pretty forgiving. The BDC dont really look like the pic. Its more like small lines.

Cool . I like the reticle much more than the busy Tactical types .

Thanks again

I love my Veracity scopes. I have 3 of them. One on my 700 308. Another on my encore SML and another I’ll be putting in my CVA scout I’m getting converted to SML

I love my Veracity scopes
Yep and Natchez often has them for a great price. ATM the 3-15x50 is about $434 in SFP. Occasionally they get in FFP models with a damaged box or whatever. They sell them really cheap. I would say the only big con is the parallax only goes down to 50 yards and im not really a fan of the SFP reticle. Love the FFP reticle though.

At full price though you are better off with something like a SWFA SS 3-15x42. Better built scope and a little lighter. Ive seen those on sale as low as $500. Thats a smoking deal on a Japanese made FFP scope. Im also seeing some great pricing on Trijicon Credo and Credo HX lately. They get rave reviews.

The normal "sale" price on these is about $600. They run those sales a couple times a year and maybe once a year for less.

Burris's warranty is rock solid. Just sent a scope purchased back in the 1980s and they gave a replacement in 3 weeks, no questions asked. Can't beat that.
Exactly. Had a Burris fixed 6 power scope that a encore khatadin 500 S&W junked. They called me as they had never worked on a 6x scope and the reticules were broken. They fixed it and had it back in a couple weeks.

The veracity had EVERYTHING I wanted !
But the HP for 1/3 the price only lacking illumination and probablly a few fine hairs less clarity will be MUCH easier to explain to my boss lady .

I don't believe they make the DB HP anymore...someone posted on here that Midway had a sale last year or year before for $199. I didn't need a scope but couldn't pass on an awesome scope that cost $400+ when they came out. The HP has better optics IMO
