i saved article this a while back and was wondering y'alls thoughts on the fps numbedrs he got with different powers/pellets . the thing that's really caught my eye though is the 777 powder vs BH209 at 100 and 120 grains . in his results with 100 grains 777 powder produced 87 fps more than BH209 . although at 120 grains BH209 beat 777 by 123 fps with BH209 having less SD by 3-5 times less . and with 777 going from 100 grains to 120 grains only produced a trivial 30 fps more vs BH209 having a 240 fps difference between 100 and 120 grains . these results suggest that with 777 going above 100 grains of powder is prertty much just wasting powder and money .

are these results just internet BS that is best ignored ? or is he onto something ? here's a link to his article .

does anyone have any FPS numbers comparing 100 vs 120 grains of 777 powder ?

thanks guys , that's VERY helpful . if y'all trust barns and hodgon data i'll trust them also along with y'alls experience with your personal results . i'll delete that link and replace it with this thread .

ElDiablo i got "The requested page could not be found." on your link here .

ive got a caldwell G2 , i guess i need to RTFM and put it to use when it warms up .

thanks again :)

I still get a chuckle out of the 3 pellet FireStar load (100gr) vs the old 2 pellet loads (also 100gr). You get more actual propellant with the 3 FireStar pellets ...so yeah.....it makes more speed than the old 2 pellet load..... 🤪
