finally figured it out

went out today to finally shoot the disc extreme with the bh209.tried several variations of powder/bullet wts/and sabots(most combos i saw used on here) and could get nothing to shoot better than 3 shot 2 1/2 inches.thought i would try something different before i threw the whole works in the lagoon,and finally got what i was after.5 shot group 2 1/2 inches(1 flyer) 4 shots measured 1 1/2",3 shots measured a little less than 1"(all at 100 yds).these were the combos i tried to no avail:

100 gr bh209 250 .452 xtp mmp-24 win 209
100 gr bh209 250 .452 xtp mmp-12 win 209
100gr bh209 250 .452 xtp mmp short black win 209
120 gr bh 209 same 3 combos as above
100 gr bh209 same 3 combos except 300 .452 xtp

9 different combos and crappy results,then.............

90 gr bh209 300 .452 xtp mmp short black win 209 got me the group above.never figured light load heavy bullet would be the "secret formula"just shows how every gun is different.sorry kinda long but it was a interesting day with good results in the end.

My Disc liked 100 grains of BH209 and the 250 grain Shockwaves, but you're right. You never know what a rifle will like until you get out there and try some different bullets.

With the XTP's it does not surprise me that they liked a smaller powder charge... It sounds like you have a good load worked up.
