My name is Felipe Tettay. Thanks for this site! Really helpful information, and cool community.

I want to share what I think is a really cool product, its a breech plug for CVA Accura, Optima, and Wolf families that lets you fire with no powder! Just use standard nailgun powerloads and you can shoot bullets and arrows.

Here are some videos if you want to check it out.

@Green Gorilla will these work in the .45 cal Accura? Looking at your plug, it obviously protrudes into the bore some. So I’m wondering if it will only work in the .50 caliber or is it small enough to also fit .45? I don’t see caliber mentioned anywhere. Thx
Thanks for pointing that out! Its for the .50 cal at the time, hope to fit it to .45 in the future. It does protrude more into the barrel to compensate for the absence of powder to have the ram push the bullet throuhly against it, and for the gas expansion.

Any idea what the fps is with the xtp 240s?

632 fps with the xtp240 and a ramset power level 4, like in the picture below.

With the purple power loads level 6, it reaches around 850 fps.

Here is the Amazon link for those power loads:

Probably would be good for plinking and varmints but I don't think that it's going to be good for hunting!

Actually the large caliber airguns launch bullets in this velocity range and they use them for hunting all kinds of larger game. They ambush feral pigs all the time with air guns down here in Texas. Bagging deer is not a problem either. But our deer unless from a hunting ranch aren’t all that big. Several guys used air guns in Africa too.

So how far would you be able to ethically take a deer with it?
Although guys have taken deer out to a little over 100 yards with 50 cal air guns, the optimum range is 25 to 50 yards.

If you think about it the guys who use suppressors on their guns use subsonic loads which just happen to be what the air guns are doing with their bullets too. It is part of the new quiet generation for hunting.

With good shot placement, maximum range of 80-100 yards.
That seems like a long shot with something that is shooting around 800fps! I wonder if this would be legal to use in Ohio for deer? I wouldn't think that it would be for muzzleloader season but maybe regular firearms season?

Not sure about Ohio but the rifle remains muzzle loaded, so in some states it will be considered legal in ML season.
In some states it's legal to take down deer with over .45 cal airguns. For feral hogs or varmints it will be legal anywhere, and very very inexpensive with casted bullets!
