I was at a local gunshow, picked up a TC .50 Hawken, appeared to be unfired! I dropped a light down the barrel, pristine, lock and area around the nipple are spotless. Guy said it had not been fired, been in safe since late 70's, said he was getting rid of everything he did not shoot. Had several safe dings on stock, very small, and scuff or two on the edges of the rifle barrel bluing, but I think I got a  good deal. Going to shoot it the next couple of days!

If you got it for around $300, you did darn good. Of course, if you got what you wanted, it's even better.

Pretty darn good price I'd say. TCs are starting to go back up in price as they become harder to find. Cosmetic issues are cheap and easy to fix. Broken locks and worn out barrels, not so much. To find one that has seen so little use is a great piece of luck. Let us know how she shoots.
