Hornady 250gr XTP

My first time shooting the 250gr .452 Hornady XTP in the CVA Apex .45 cal. This was also the first time using H4198 vs IMR4198. This would be a fun one to shoot into some water jugs and watch them explode

6gr N110/52gr H4198
wool wad
Fed LRMP
smooth sized for medium loading pressure

3 shots on a cold clean bore with one primer fired before loading.

I had some 250gr Barnes TEZ's with me, so I used the same load combo except these were knurled from the package, no sizing. Fairly typical 1" group for the TEZ's

Pretty good shooting,, h shoots a little more accurate than imr for me, I'd like to see what that does to a water jug at a hundred yards

I've always had good luck with 240 gr XTP's (44 mags) in my Whitelighting, 65 grs (V) T7/fff Harvester green sabots. Shot all the XTP's now I'm using 240 gr Nosler's that shoot just as good on targets, haven't hunted with them yet.

I shot more of the same load to make sure the first group wasn't a fluke, I'm still happy with this plinking load

I then shot a single load of 60gr H4198 with everything else the same, the Camo Apex definitely prefers a duplex load with certain bullets
