On the bottom of the hand grip there's a bolt that connects the grip to the receiver. It has an Allen head, can't remember if it's metric, I think so.

Thank you Sir. The head of the bolt was a little odd looking with some markings, so I didn't think it was a standard hex-head. But a 6mm Allen wrench did the trick.

I contacted a company that made custom walnut grips for a S&W Model 22A pistol for me and asked if they could make similar grips for the Optima V2 pistol. Handgun Grips | Altamont Company. Waiting for their reply. Here's a photo of my S&W 22A with their grips.

Recently acquired a new Optima V2 pistol with the black grips from muzzle-loaders.com. How do I remove the pistol (hand) grip properly in case I wanted to clean underneath, or install a different grip if I could find one?

there is a large allen head bolt that you remove from the bottom of the the grip. easy removel.
