This is the meat of a young mule deer buck that my son shot yesterday. Looking it up online it says it’s tape worm larvae. Yummy! Waste of a deer and tag. Anybody ever seen this before?

Yup but not in meat but our panfish in both club lakes have similar little grubs . An since I dont eat fish rare it" not a problem , protein is protein if cooked well its just a tasty fish . I can say it is in your head but well done grubs are done too as long as your not the one butchering . My dads father tells of being out on line cabins (fence duty) they would hang meat till grubs were working and the soak in buttermilk ,drive them out or kill them (don't know) as I wasn"t there to ask but said it made for tender eatin ./Ed

What a Shame, That is nasty 🤢

Like eekjellander said above, I have seen that same looking thing in Pan Fish here, There is a little Lake just up the road a few miles from me that has a decent amount of Large Mouth Bass in it, EVERY Bass i have ever caught, and heard of Others catching has them little Worms in the Meat, just under the Skin. So far i have never been hungry enough to eat a Fish from there

There was a national fast food chain specializing in fish. One of the jobs at the individual locations was picking out worms. Halibut is especially bad when it comes to being wormy.

About 15 years ago I killed an infected deer. It was fed to the grizzly bears at WSU. The local game warden issued me a new tag.
