I recently scored at Wal-mart on an Omega .50 with the black synthetic
thumbhole stock. I had been planning to get into blackpowder and that sealed the deal. My question is what range should I sight in at?
Here in Rhode Island and Massachusetts our usual shots are at 50 yards or less.
Most of the guys around here I have checked with shoot 100gr. of 777 pellets with powerbelt 295 Hollow points so that is the load I am going to start with and work from there.

Congrats on the new Omega!! The two T7 pellets and 295 gr. powerbelt load is standard around here too. Try the powerbelts out on deer and see if you like them, some do and some don't just like most things I guess.

If you set the scope for dead on at 100 yds. with that load, you will kill any deer within that range. Might be low at 25 yds and high at 50 yds just have to shoot at those ranges to be sure.

Welcome to the addictive sport of Muzzleloading too!!
