TC Impact First Range Report

Good Evening,

Finally got my impact sb in, I was like a kid on Christmas morning waiting for it. I got her all cleaned up, scope mounted, some blackhorn premeasured up, and headed to the range. I decided I would start at 80 grains of blackhorn, with a 350 grain Hornady FPB, and a Winchester 209. Got it dialed in at 25, stepped back to 50, shot a tight group, then took her back where I wanted to see what she could do, 100 yards. I let the barrel cool about 10 mins, it was warm today, and it wasn’t the perfect barrel cooling weather. Anyway shot a 2 1/4 group, I’m excited with that for the first round of a load work up. Gonna keep increasing 5 grains at a time and see if it will improve, but I think the impact will be a dandy of a deer gun. What do you guys think of the hornady fpb? Like on performance on game? Also, I’m looking to get a single piece scope and base any recommendations? Thanks! Keep your aim true and your powder dry!

Sounds like a good 1st outing Can you take a few pics of the breech plug? I couldn’t find one online.

What do you guys think of the hornady fpb? Like on performance on game?

I have a pack of them to try in my Accura but haven't even fired any yet. So many bullets, so little range time.

If you'd like to stick with full bore give the 300 grain Thor a try. Solid copper.
