Hunted yesterday afternoon on Ft. Sill's Quanah Parker range. At about 18:00 hrs. a spike buck came into the field.
Distance: 35-40 yards
Bullet: Patched round ball
Primer: Winchester #11 cap
Powder: 90 grains of Black MZ
Patch: Khaki drill cloth
Aimed for a high shoulder shot. I heard the ball hit, the buck went down, kicked for about 15 seconds and lay still. Buck was very fat from feeding on acorns.
