I have a friend down that wayNot due to my vote! Majority of VA counties are declaring 2nd amendment sanctuary status.
Gentlemen,
I am not even close to being a member of the party in question, but please read the bill here before working yourselves up too much: http://lis.virginia.gov/cgi-bin/legp604.exe?201+ful+SB64+hil
The proposals I am getting excited about are ones involving hunting deer with hounds in VA. I have heard through the grapevine that the legislature is considering either requiring people hunting with deer hounds to have 500 contiguous acres of property to do so AND/OR delaying the use of hounds for deer hunting until 1 December during general firearms season. The general firearms season for deer just came in on 16 November, and it has been crazy around here.
Just this afternoon, I caught a hound with a tracking collar and an owner's name/telephone number on it, and no license, running through our creek bottom where my three stands are set up. Needless to say, he caught a ride to the pound. If these "hunters" can't respect our landowner's rights and keep their dogs off of our property while they sit on the road and hope something pops out for them to shoot, they won't and don't get the respect of a phone call to come get their effing dogs. Now, if he wants his expensive radio collar or his hound, he'll have to pay through the nose for it, and may be he'll think twice about letting his hounds run wild on posted property. This is a common occurrence here. By the way, the dog came right to me, and I loved on him and gave him some food, as he was bag of dadgum bones.

This fella has an OBVIOUS Problem with Hounds. I seen his post here and wasn’t gonna respond, But what the Heck He chimes in, Post #11

ALL AMERICAN CITIZENS AND PATRIOTS BETTER REALIZEJust as I posted about a number of other, effectively single party states last week, so now Virginians will experience what is wrong with it. I'm surprised they've gotten going so quickly.
I was stationed in VA a couple of times in the 90's. I was there when 1 handgun a month was implemented. Since it was the law, that's what I did.
Anyway, I hope Virginians will see the folly of riding the blue wave, and start going back towards red in 2020, and every opportunity thereafter.
No sir, I have no "OBVIOUS Problem with Hounds," just how "hunters'" around here use them and conduct themselves. I appreciate you posting that response in post #11, as it clearly illustrates I have no problems with the hounds themselves, only the "hunters" who use them in reckless, illegal, and unethical ways. I am truly sorry that those of you who use hounds responsibly, ethically, and legally will eventually have to suffer for your fellow hound "hunters'" inability or unwillingness to conduct themselves properly.
My property is not portable, but hounds are, so the onus is on the them to keep their dogs off of the hunting land my family worked so hard to purchase, and works so hard to maintain. I am absolutely entitled to be able to hunt my family's and my property without having to deal with their dogs pushing deer off of our property for them to shoot. These are not my deer, but I don't think many of you would enjoy what goes on here happening on your private property. This is my issue, not the hounds. I am not sure how much more clearly I can communicate this sentiment. I think if you stop and think about it, people running dogs across our property to shoot deer off of it, and being able to come on my property to retrieve their dogs without so much as notifying us is as close to hunting socialism as it gets. For such a conservative forum, of which I am a concurring member, it just seems foreign for me for folks to to respond to my posts on this with such animus.
I am looking forward to the day when hound hunting is no longer allowed in Virginia. I did love my Grandma's bear pot pie though...
Thats funny . But what is being done to us is NOT .
