Muzzleloading season is about to be in full swing for most of us. Season has even all REALLY started in some locals. Just wondering what bullet/powder combo everyone is going to use...

For ME..as of right NOW(last range visit will be SUNDAY)

10ML-II ss/laminate- 250gr Bonded Shockwave/40-42gr N-110
10ML-II blue/synthetic- 300gr Bonded Shockwave/44gr SR-4759
Kristels 10ML-II- 250gr Ballistic Extreme/36gr N-110
Old ULA- 275gr Ballistic Extreme/44gr SR-4759
New ULA- 275gr Ballist Extreme/58gr N-120

More than likely the 10ML-IIs will get the nod to Kentucky and the ULAs will stay at home...

How about the rest of you?

Must be nice!

Muzzleloading season for Indiana doesn't come in until Dec 9th.
Gun season starts Nov 18th (you can use a muzzleloader then!).

Like you we will be shooting for real on the 14th of this month.

In 50 caliber I have the option of a 300 grain bullet and the load my rifle likes best is 64 grains of Reloader #7 with the 300 grain SW and the short black Harvester sabot.

I will start the season with the 45 caliber 10ML and hunt with it until I take a deer. I only took one with it last year so it needs the experience. Its' best load is 65 gains of H322 with the 200 grain SST and the Harvester blue sabot.

I have to wait until November 4. :( Then I will use my 10ML laminate/stainless with 300 SW, HPH-24, CCI 290M, and 83.0 grains of H322.

One of my seasons is over, was successful on a 6x5 bull elk.
This was a White U-M 460 bullshop over a wad and 110 grains of T7.
Ml season starts around dec 3rd. It will be a Savage with 300 barnes originals over 60grains N120.
Another option is a 410 super 91 which I am getting from UC.
Redclub

For deer I'm liking a 300 Gr. SST in a Harvester Sabot over 68 Gr. of 4198.
For larger critters I'm seriously contemplating a 350 Gr. Hornady Interlock .458 bullet over some undetermined amount of 4198 and an Orange MMP sabot.

250gr SST over 44grs IMR SR4759.
Hopefully a Huge Whitetail has my name on it!!!

ULA, With a 250grn Bonded ShockWave, and 40grns of N110, and also a Harvester sabot, CCI Primer.

Savage, With a 250grn Bonded ShockWave, and 42grns of N110, and also a Harvester sabot, Winchester primer.

My son has got the jump on all of us this season.Indiana held its first ever youth hunt this year.Sept.23-24th.He shot a large doe with his Savage.Using 44 grns of AA5744,short black sabot,Fed 209a.,250grn XTP.I was sitting in the pick-up 200yds off(mosquito free! 8) )watching the show.He is turning into a sure enough deer-slayer! He bleated and stopped her at 40yds,and put the hammer on her!If you have ever seen the Lightfeild Slug commercial, this was a repeat! The wound channel from that 250 XTP was impressive! He will be using this load this season. The recoil is manageable for his 12 yr. old frame.

Somehow I feel somewhat responsible for this Bambi slaughtering young squire.

Darrel, I really have not found anything that shoots badly in this gun.He was a little intimidated by it all intially, but, now he is handling it all like a ole pro!People ask him what he shoots and he starts rattling off of the savage rhetoric and people just stand there looking dumbfounded,I get a kick out of that!
