Will this powder work ?

Got the Austin & Halleck ready to go , friend has a couple cans of black powder one has 3 Fs on it the other has 4 Fs on it ... will this work ? I found a manual off ebay that says 2 Fs powder is recomended ... very new too this stuff so feel free to coach me !

Sounds like you have a 50 cal? Of the 2 powders you mention I would work with the 3F. 4F is finer powder that is normally reserved for the flash pan on Flint Locks.

Do NOT use the 4F!!!!

4F is for flintlocks only. . .It is used for flintlocks in their "Flash pan".

About 80 grains of 3F (by volume) will be about right for you if you are shooting 50 cal or smaller
