Saw no deer . I discoveted gravity again today . Ice , snow , water , and damp branches under wet leaves . Oh look im walkin on the sky....then a violent thud . Knocked lens covers off scope , only found one. Rifle bounced off ground , and the tweety birds were in weird harmony.........wow!!!! Thought i saw jupiter.... , this is gonna really hurt tomorrow . Bruised bones on left shin , landed on right shoulder and rigbt side of head and neck ontop of logs . Hunting by yourself isnt a great idea always .... Even jarred my over bore size conical off the charge . Its fairly tite too .Super 91 seems ok but who knows . I know the walk out was S---L---O---W . This one hurt .

Found the" bull of the woods " funnel today too . He really moves throught there heavy . Hoof prints the size of my 2xl fists . Hes a heavyweight bruiser !!!
This will be my morning motivation to get my....outa bed . Question is where ?? Not much for cover believe it or not yet kinda thick ....i dunno.....
Oh saw a yote too but no shot . Good luck tomorrow boys....

Sore and moving slow . I will get there when i do . Last day right???? Thats the only reason im gonna go out . When i get there , eventually . Bruised bones hurt pretty bad today . Got my bell rung pretty good too , still feelin it . Good luck to all !!!

I feel your pain Ed. I shot a small doe along with another(we can kill two in one day this year). I couldn't find that deer to save me, no blood, nothing. I knew it was hit hard, mule kicked an ran into heavy brush/briars. It got dark an was cold so decided to try next morning. I found what was left of it, both hind legs an side were gone an whatever varmit it was had scratched leaves/brush on top of it to try to hide it. Still upset with myself for giving up on it...Its to the point now you can't leave a deer overnight!

That was more than likely a cat. Coyotes it seems like, if there’s more than one involved, scatter them from hell to breakfast. I shot a small buck several years ago right about dark. Cleaned him out and then hung him in a tree by his horns, was gonna go back in the morning and haul him out. Dang cougar ate half of him and covered him in dirt. Really ticked me off cause it was kind of a long hike in there. In Utah, I think the cats get as many as the coyotes.
 
Don't know, but does sound like it. The area has several homes surrounding it. Alot of human activity. I have seen a red fox there years ago.

Thanks muzzy but as it turns out Mr Big was a no.show . Mighty Whitey was READY too !!! What a difference a new flash hole is !!! WOW !!!! Made a stop for 3 shots at a local range by Milan and all 3 were in one ragged hole @100yds . Spare plugs will be ordered after New Years too !!! NO MORE PANIC ATTACKS !!!
The new bullet and load SHOOTS !!!!! With 90gr of T7 3f it sure seems pretty flat too . I really like that !!! The old 400gr bullet anything over 80gr of pyro p wasnt accurate at all . I really dont know if 90gr of T7 is its accuracy ceiling either , it could handle more . But i dont know the velocity either . Dont want to overstress it on a deer and have it just blow up on impact . That would not be good !!!

You may find your sweet spot to be around 70-80gr if 777-3F or Swiss. I wouldn’t worry about a 400gr lead conical being explosive on deer. You may find on a frontal shot it may travel the whole length of the deer and possibly exit??

I wouldnt mind full.length penetration honestly Ed . Sometimes ive had to take shots i normally wouldnt just to Have a shot at the end of a week long hunt !!! If that 410 is shooting one ragged hole @100 with 90gr T7 3f wouldnt you call that SWEET !!! :p:woohoo:

This. I have had a 460 gr. N.E. penetrate completely through a young buck. Quartering shot from front, entered between brisket and shoulder, exited trough rear hind quarter. Needless to say, no tracking required. ☺☺
 
I tell ya I just love what Jeff aka Bestil did with the redesign of Whites Breech plug especially being he is using Stainless 17-4 steel for the Breechplug. That Breechplug will last forever and for only a few dollars you can replace or switch from #11 or Musket nipples.

Went to the Dr yesterday . Almost hospitalized me . My shin i bruised the bone when i fell has become cellutitus kinda bad . 2x the size of normal when i got up yesterday , red like a stop sign and hot . 3 kinds of antibiotics that make me dizzy . Supposed to lay around with foot up in air . Looks like a tree trunk only red and shiney . Sore with lightening strikes too . Got good news too . Ran out of blood pressure pills Christmas eve and he said my bp was textbook normal , took it 3 times cuz he couldnt believe it !!! No more bp pills for me !!!! Wa--hoo !!!!
Guess we are gettin older like our Whites . Great that bestill has hooked us up . Now we can have back the accuracy that made Whites , and DWB's famous , and keep it that way !!!
