Yeah it's a bugger to be short !  But no one dare laugh once it is loaded.....

hey now, kit carson was a shorty and would stomp a mud hole in a mans ass twice as big as him lol
 
My stepfather's sister married a direct descendent of Kit Carson. Every 2 or 3 years they had a family reunion in Colo. and dozens of descendents and their families showed up.

Kit Carson kicked the Navajos' butts because he was ordered to do so. No one else who tried could tame them. He burned their peach orchards and slaughtered their livestock and starved them out.
 
Pete I always carry a loaded .44 with me so I don't really need the Tower  ;)
 
You wouldn 't have in 1840. You'd have one shot from a pistol like everybody else.  :D 
 
You'd be bogged down with possible bag, powder horn, knife and hawk.   

Then don't forget the 11lb Hawken. Them boys were tough.
 
True , I could never understand the younger guys addiction to the 5.56 round and Galil instead of the
battle proven FN FAL and 7.62 which they felt was to heavy.
