Stopped in Cabelas in Gonzales La over the holiday. Picked up several bottles of Longshot for my 28ga. I seen Blackhorn 209 in there at 65.99 a can.

I luckily got some 209 from a member so I will get to do some more shooting this summer to be ready for Deer season. Longshot is never in stock but luckily I have Two 8 pounders of 20/28 and only reload in those two shotgun gauges. Hear a lot of folks finding components right now.

I been looking everywhere for 20/28. I fount Longshot in 1 pd and 8 pd jugs. I bought HS6 ,Longshot and Winchester 572. I only hunt with my 28ga. I fount several different powders in 8 pd kegs. A bunch of cheddite 209 primers. I am only on my 2nd bottle of powder in my reloader. 1st can universal clays. Then 2nd HS6 in 3/4 oz 6's.

I’m the guy that stocks up on things that I find work so that I don’t get into a situation where I can’t find supplies or a company changes things. Most of these were bough for $10 a bottle before the situation we are in now started. View attachment 21779
Just an observation but I don't recall ever seeing a black horn label like the ones in your pic. But its been ages since I've bought any.

I’m not sure anyone’s going to pay $200 a bottle but there’s a listing for 2 bottles that’s at $140 plus $35 for shipping.
Guys have been paying $100-180 a bottle all spring on gunbroker. If the next run doesn't hit the market till Sept or later, I’ll bet someone (not me) will pay $200+. Crazy times!

I don't think you'll see it until well beyond September. Maybe not until next year. Military contracts come first.
I made mention of this awhile back..... better buy a propellant of some kind if you plan on much hunting/shooting. It won't be long and all the subs will dry up.

Cheddite #209 Primers for Shotshell. Packed 1,000 per box (10, 100 pack boxes). Laquer sealant on top of the primer.

Okay, I know not quite on topic, but Brownells as these for $74.99 plus the Hazmat fee. I have never seen these, so does anyone have any experience with these? Have not seen Blackhorn209 in a year and the locals just laugh when I ask about primers.

i got 3 bottles of 777 FFFG for $41 each and federal 209a primers for $10 per 100 pack from a small local family sporting business .
i'll suggest looking at small sporting shops in off the beaten track places to find powders and primers .
a store here does have BH209 for $65 a bottle ...... too pricy for my cheap butt though , i can just swab more often .

BH209 is sold in 10 oz bottles . so three $65 bottles of BH209 = 30oz and $195 .
two $41 16oz bottles of 777 powder = 32 oz and $82 .
if ya want powder not pellets and don't have deep pockets is seems like a easy decision .

I do like Blackhorn 209 but I just can't bring myself to pay the high price for it. I think Cabela's has or had in stock recently. I think 65 dollars a bottle. I'd just as much use real black powder or Triple 7 in my new Optima.
