The rifle has a 2.5 - 8 scope; Bestill' rear sealing breech plug; nitrided 45 caliber barrel; weighs less than 7½ pounds loaded, and with scope. The bullet is the Fury 250g 45 caliber Star Tip Mz 2P. Seems to be a good hunting combination.

This morning it was a very very light drizzle; 44°, and absolutely no air movement. Target ended up out 199 yard.

Bullet is smooth sized so it slides to the powder with little effort by the shooter. Load is 95g Blackhorn powder, poly wad, Fury bullet, Federal 209A primer. Shooting began with a cold fouled barrel.

First three shots at top target. Scope was then adjusted to the right, and then three shots at bottom target.

Nice thing about the bullet is it is easy to smooth size; once it is sized, it stays sized. Nice thing about the rifle is it is light, and accurate. Nice thing about Bestill' breech plug is it is sized to allow the use of the 209A primer with zero blow by, and it has a flash hole that never grows.

Very Nice. How do you adjust to the 200 yard distance? Do you have a dial on the scope or just dope the holdover?

Or, are you sighted in at 200? Seems I often see you moving yardages in a single outing. Just curious.

The calculator on Hornady website is used to determine moa dial up at 200 yard, or sometimes just guess. This rifle, and load was shot yesterday at 100 yard, then dialed up 6½ moa to shoot at 200 yard. It was kinda windy so results weren't very good. However yesterday results indicated 6½ moa up was too much. Before shooting this morning the dial was turned down to 5½ moa, and then shot at 200 yard.

Rifle is sighted in for 100 yard with dial set at 0. To shoot at 200 yard, the elevation cap is removed, and the dial turned up to 5½ moa, and the cap is replaced to prevent it getting lost.

Several scopes here have cds dials, but this rifle' scope doesn't. Most cds dials are marked in moa. A very few cds dials are engraved with marks fitting specific loads.

Longest shot ever taken on an animal was done using a cds dial engraved for 200g shockwave bullets with a load of 115g Blackhorn. Antelope were located, and approached by crawling. After getting as close as possible, the dial was turned to 320 yard, and the shot taken. The sleeping goat was unable to stand, and died there.

Shooting at water bottles out a ways is fun, and instructional. Rifle sighted at 100 yard; shot at 200 yard for practice. Then put bottles out there, way out there just for fun. Then range the bottle, and use the dial up calculated with the calculator, and pull the trigger.

When a bottle out 300 yard is hit with just one shot first time, by dialing, it is great fun. Even more fun if one dials for a ¼ mile shot, and makes a hit first shot with no practice.

Holding over, and/or using marks in the scope seem unwieldy, dialing for range works good.
