What's the ballpark to have that Scout converted to a SML by Hankins? ThanksI couldn't wait. I ordered a Blue/Black Scout 45-70 from Sportsman Warehouse to have Hankins convert to a SML. Should be at my local store Jan 31st. No muzzle brake on this version but I will likely have one put on during the conversion but want your all's opinion. This gun will be mainly for sabot loads using the N120 and 195 to 225 grain bullets. I can probably get by without the brake? I think LBA shoots one without the brake? If I end up liking this shooter I'll probably get the stainless/muzzle brake version later this year. Thoughts?
Great idea, hope it comes to fruition!I found my new patent listed on the website of the United States Patent and Trademark Office yesterday.
The patent office granted my patent application for the "Self-Ejecting Muzzleloader Safety Cartridge". It matches a measured amount of non-corrosive propellant to the bullet weight and ejects itself from the muzzle after it fires.
Now I am looking for a company who would be willing to mass produce the new product.
I got some suggestions from members of this forum that were very helpful in the development of this new idea.
GM54-120 gave some excellent suggestions on clean burning propellants.

At this point in time Hodgdon has a monopoly on the Blackpowder substitutes being sold in the U.S. market. Hopefully, some company will be willing to give them some competition.Great idea, hope it comes to fruition!

I use old T shirts and worn out soft cotton baby towels leftover from my grandkids. I cut them up for patches and cleaning rags.Cut up an old (washed) pair of underwear for patches/wiping cloths.
