You could probably get lead conicals to shoot with 5744 if the charge was dropped to around 30-35gr. Use a good wad like a poly wad and size the conical on the tight side. Probably a good idea to use a 30-1 alloy too.
About 30gr gives you 1450fps in a 45/70 with a 460gr bullet at 28ish kpsi. So its probably possible
