    Testing.45 .015 Jacket 300 grain Accumax bullets

I had these bullets special made. I wanted a high BC bullet with a thinner Jacket. My thought process was with the thinner jacket the bullet would obratrate into the rifling easier with Black powder and Black powder subs such as Blackhorn 209. With the weight of 300 grains and the pure lead...

    120 vs 140 grains Blackhorn 209

Recently I read a post where the new CVA Rifle is capable of shooting 140 grains by volume .Also the UFs are capable of 150 grains Blackhorn 209. ( by volume) Not positive about the UF . Someone asked if Knight had a comparable gun. Knight does but they are not approved loads. Knight personally...

.40 cal TC shockwave vs .40 cal Hornady FTX

Who makes .40 TC Sockwaves ? I tried to do a search. I read on a forum that the TC Shockwave was the same bullet as a Hornady SST. That is not the case with the bullets i have . The .40 TC Shockwave is a longer and more sleek looking bullet than a .40 Hornady FTX. Unless my .40 Shockwaves are...

    Knight MHC

I would like to know what does the MHC stand for ? I did a search and came across a post that Busta made . Sounds like Busta was one of the first guys to test Blackhorn 209 in Michigan out of a Knight rifle . ( I think a Knight MHC)Shot some pretty darn good groups with a Knight and Blackhorn...

    .45 Knight Disc

I'm just curious what all twist rates were made for the .45 Knight Disk Extreme or LRH . I thought I heard someone say they made them in a 20,26,28 and 30 ? Is that correct ? I would like to play with a 26 or 28 twist if they were ever made.

Credit where credit is due !

Last Thursday I watched Jeff Fisk put on a shooting expedition at Friendship . I had the pleasure to watch and spot for Jeff. Jeff started out shooting the Creedmore 15 shots at 500 yards off of cross sticks in 45 minutes with a new gun that Jeff built. He went 15 for 15 with no trouble at all ...

    Paper patched bullets

I have been playing around with some 530 grain 442 paper patched bullets . I can't get the groups I want just yet . Been playing with velocities from 1100 fps to 1300 fps . The bullets are from Buffalo arms . They don't seem to be real uniform . Most go down easy but some seem to go down a...

    BC for heavy hitters

I was messing around today and ran some numbers but not sure if I'm using the correct BC . What is the aprox BC for a 530 grain .45 cal bullet ? I used .340 . I was surprised at the results I found . Mind you this is not real world ! I figured a 530 grain bullet (.340)traveling at 1300 fps with...

    Free float or bed ?

I thought I would start a post on this subject . I have always been taught free floating will get your best accuracy . Sabotloader has made the point that not that long ago bedding your barrel channel was the preferred method for accuracy . Sabotloader has me thinking . What he is saying makes...

    Cleaning between shots

I'm just curious what you guys use to clean between shots while using Black or Triple seven ? I know Sabotloader uses Windex and Encore 50 uses Butches bore shine . I read somewhere that there was a product that would work with 777 or Blackhorn 209 . Is that correct ? If so what is the product ?
