Remember this was covered awhile back after the Triple 8 powder name was mentioned. TB did a write up and it appears to fall inline with some observations about Hodgdon branded Blackhorn 209. The "finer" grains could weight more by volume?

IMO its exactly what is happening. The smaller size is allowing more propellent in a volume measure thus it weighs more.
 
Yep, just like if you took a weight measurement of Triple7 FFG vs FFFG by volume and compared them. The FFFG should weigh more. Sounds to me like Hodgdon just made a slight change to the manufacturing or had an overstock of "Triple 8" and they sold it as Blackhorn209. ;)
 
Interesting. Could the smaller granules have something to do with burn rate in the FireStick configuration?
