Decay was at my house for a visit & he wanted to test out some of the Fury .402 250gr ST2P bullets with LBCR’s he had just received on Fri. For use in his Paramount.
We pulled my 5 port titanium beast brake for the first time & hit my bench for some load development.
First time a sabot has been shot out of my Paramount.
First pic is the charge we started out with @50yds
2nd pic was with a small increase in powder.
We think we are on to something here.
3rd pic is with another small increase in powder. It opened back up slightly. We went with the middle charge with 1 nice clean hole results from all 3 shot groups, right to 200yds.
Pic 4 is at 200
No, it’s not 1 ragged hole, BUT, it IS, still under MOA @1 7/8” & that can be fine tuned better. That was the very first group at 200yds with a sabot load in my Paramount.
We had to stop bc it was getting dark. My dang chrony failed to function AGAIN!
We got mid 2300’s for MV but I’m pretty sure the readings we did get were not accurate.
We did want/need the velocity data, but we wanted to see what kind of accuracy we could get first & foremost.
Decay can now tweak that load at home with his own Paramount.
I’m sorry we can not discuss any details about the charges we used, only discuss the accuracy & potential we saw.
