I will… I had to scuff it up and shoot a quick coat a of clear… it’s hanging in the garage right now….I’ll put it together w/ the scope and take some photos… I’ll weigh it too…Maybe you can post a few pictures. I'm curious about the weight.

Thank you for the kind words. This rifle is used… I had a synthetic stock that had a horrible half a&&ed 5.00 spray can paint job… the receiver was coated with something but it lifted when I applied some solvent to it… (I was misled on the condition of this rifle…) So I opted for the Boyd’s walnut…That looks great, really sharp!
Sounds like you're getting some blowback through the breech plug. Somebody posted about o-rings you can get, (fit in the primer pocket) helps to prevent blowback.
Is your breech plug new? Can't imagine why it would show any corrosion.
I guess I got lucky that my own rifle didn't have any blowback so far.
When I cleaned it up on Saturday, I did notice that the firing pin assembly felt kinda gritty. The bushing threads felt a little rough. Maybe it will smooth out over time.
I'm still on the fence about getting a Boyd's stick for my rig. I have a H&R Handi Rifle in the 280 Remington. That gun is very heavy to me. I think it's about 8 or 9 pounds.
I really like how your rifle looks.
Jim
Makes sense…ThanksMy rifle came with the standard QRBP. The book says it's good for pellets and loose powder but not for use with Blackhorn 209 powder.
Someone put up a link for those O rings. I check and see if I can find it.
It's possible you're getting crud in the hammer, trigger assembly area from blowback.
Thank you! How do I get into the firing pin area?Take a can of break Free or break out blaster and spray that firing pin and spring area get you a toothbrush and brush it real good get everything out of it till it's really clean but every time you clean the barrel, if the gun is used and it's never really been clean and you have a lot of build up there you can always buy another little kit it has a spring and a firing pin in it they're very inexpensive,, I have the kit for an Acura I would assume they also have one for the optima
Yes exactly! After about 15 shots it’s a bear to get it to set…when you fired your gun you were seeing smoke which tells us you were getting blowback you'll have a lot of crud and carbon and build up in their firing pin area probably is affecting cocking the rifle too,,,
I had a vent liner installed in my Optima breechplugs, makes them very easy to clean! Just remove the liner and replace it when shot out!The breech plug might be shot out too. They only last but so long.
