I own one of his ulite conversation now. It was 8lb 4oz scoped with a 3x9 conquest. I just sent it back to Jeff to switch over to LRMP and add a brake.
So, will be a little heavier but at 8lbs, a stout loaf would make your teeth rattle. Reason for the brake.

after talking to Jeff, I don’t think he would do another. Think he said the only reason he did originally, was because Knight wasn’t offering a fast twist 45, at the time.
Seemed to be a lot of work but it’s a sweet lightweight rifle that I can shoot smokeless or heavy doses of BH209 out off. I believe it will be my go to rifle when complete.
Chuck had this one special order. Heavier barrel and 26" of usable barrel.

It was 8lbs total with the VX-L scope. My scope only weighs 11oz

I will launch a 275gr BE 2442fps. So if you run the numbers, that is some stout recoil. I went back to shooting my little Barnes 225gr XPB instead after one season of that.
Yep thats why my 50 (bk--92) with the Rem uml barrel and 140grv blackhorn ,and the275 xpb has one (brake) plus a kick eze safari magnum pad . Even then its still WOW !!!!!!!! Dont remember the weight but its not much , ( not home either) and it STILL ROCKS !!! On BOTH ends !!!! Its a sickness ya know......

I just ran them...its over 40ftlbs of recoil energy at 7.4lbs for the rifle. IIRC my GMB 54-120 is far worse shooting a max load of BH209 and a 385gr Rem CLHP.

This Mountaineer wont be nothing compared to them. The Super DISC is brisk with a max load of BH209 and a 300gr but it dont rattle your nugget nearly as bad.

When Melvin stopped making them I jumped on the first Knight Ultra Lite that came up. I figured it was about as close as I would ever come to owning something like the NULA. I don't regret getting it at all. So if they do release any of the fast twist 45s for the UL I will get one of them.

Just went to knight . They are 1 in 20 !!!! What were you talking about ????

NULA is not a 1-20, They are 1-32.

New Ultra Light Arms aka Ultra Light Arms. I think Colt still owns the rights to the ULA name but sold the company back to Melvin.

Hey i laugh at me too sometimes FYI !!! Lol , i got TALENT !!!!
Truth is that actually isnt a bad idea....lol

Thanks for the info, I bought a knight disc extreme in 45 cal wanting a gun that would shoot conicals better than my TC encore with the QLA.

Turns out the previous owner had the last half inch of rifling bored out to make it easier to load sabots.

Now I'm trying to decide whether I want to have it recrowned, try to recrown it myself (never done one before), or get a fast twist barrel assembly.

I'm just not sure how interchangeable everything from my disc extreme would be on the mountaineer barrel. It sounds like the bolt would work, if I get a mountaineer breech plug. I would have to do some inletting to the stock and bed it. But I've bedded other guns before, so that doesn't worry me too much. Would the trigger assembly from my gun work?

I guess my other option would be to wait until a super disc came available, but who knows if or when that might happen.

you saying someone put a QLA on a Knight Disc Extreme? Could you post pics of the end of your bore if true, have never heard of anyone doing this to a Knight. Or are you talking about your Encore?

It's on the disc extreme. I'll try and post a picture..... New here and haven't posted a picture yet.
