I really need to know more about it first. Bore dimensions being the critical numbers i need. Plus is it using that stinking VariFlame system? That is another $150 to upgrade to Lukes IF it even fits the MR-X. I dont see how the Variflame has any chance of sealing as well in a break action. Well without using an oring of some type.

So i would be looking at around $800 with some extra modules from Arrowhead. I know that system seals better. Plus the cost of a sizing die and thats assuming its adjustable within the range of what that rifle needs. It is awful tempting though. It must be able to shoot a 400gr conical at 1400fps and a 275gr sabotless at at least 2200fps or im not all that interested in spending the $$$$s.

I do not read every posting and as such missed this and posted something also on the CVA .40. Sorry about the old and "double" posting. I only realized that after CVA sent me an email and info/ad on the same. I guess I am well behind the times.

No big deal. Happens often. I linked the others to your post so its just a little easier to rummage through all the posts.

I find it to be comical that ML dot com leaked a new model again and then took it down from their website. Its obvious why they do it. Soon as they know its posted on forums they take it down so it looks like a "oops" but it still gets attention. Plus all the ideas WE come up with to make the item better or more appealing. They went fishing but the "fish" know it too. :p

Regardless im stoked a modern inline 40cal is in the works and not some beast of a bench gun that cost over a grand. They REALLY need to rethink that twist and bullet weight though IMO. On the other hand the brake option is sweet. I wonder if a Scout V2 45/70 brake will thread on? It should already be large enough for a load through funnel for a 40.

Well I wasn’t too far off I said 180 by volume is what it should take. Grt was really close with what I made for the bh209 data.

I am
Curious as to how well it will
Shoot other .40 cal projectiles. Such as the fury’s
I'm sure, just like with the .45 Paramount, it will shoot other bullets besides their PB ELR bullets just fine. The thing needed to do it is an adj sizing die. You cant really go there without it. I guarantee that Bergara barrel will have that same .0005 oversize bore dia like the .45 does. Perhaps Dennis will do what he did with the .453 STB bullets for Paramounts bore.

Only issues is all their Bullets require a 1-14 twist minimum for the 40 cal furry.

I get that, but on the same token, I've seen a pretty good spread on both ends of that work quite well also. Some ppl testing out different bullets, different weights, lengths, BC's with various charges & run it through a chrony & post their range reports with target pics. Thats goin to be quite interesting to keep up with. I'll be watching & learning.
